The winter rapeseed variety trial was harvested at SPNA Ebelsheerd in Nieuw Beerta in July. With an average of 4,1 tons/ha and an oil yield of 1,97 tons/ha, the yield was very good. The LG varieties, all with resistance to the TUYV yellowing virus and phoma, strong hand retention and N-flex, score very good figures in this study:
LG Ambassador remains the No. 1 with a yield of 4,22 tons/ha (relatively 102) and oil yield of 1,98 tons/ha
LG Austin is a mid-early winter rapeseed variety with a above average yield, namely 4,29 tons/ha

The possibilities of rapeseed
Within the new CAP regulations, the cultivation of rapeseed offers opportunities:
Oilseed rape as a dormant crop: On both clay and sandy soil, winter rapeseed is a dormant crop that makes an optimal contribution to your high-yielding crops. In the context of building plan expansion, it is certainly worth considering the inclusion of rapeseed cultivation. Read more about it here >
Controlling wireworms with rapeseed: Due to the disappearance of chemical pesticides, the weather that has new extremes every year, non-inversion tillage and the use of catch crops, wireworm populations are increasing sharply. You can disrupt the build-up of the wireworm population by growing a non-host plant, such as winter oilseed rape.
