The weeks before Christmas, the flushers had quite a bit to do. They were not overrun, but customers built up some stock so that they would not run out around the holidays. This week, it is very quiet at the flushers that are still running. That is also normal for this time of year.

Rinsers who buy now can still draw on carrots from the field. Among growers with carrots in the cold store, there is still little interest in offering something at these prices. If something is offered from the shed, it is not because of luxury. In most cases, these are parties with a story. According to insiders, however, that is not representative. In general, the quality of carrots is good. The confidence among growers and rinsers is just not so great that much business is done in the long term.

The DCA listing for both b and c carrots remains unchanged at €10 to €12 per 100 kilos. It should be noted that there was little trading this week.
