The first PotatoNL quotation for cat 1. fries is €20 to €32,50 per 100 kilos. With this, the Dutch are doing even better when it comes to pricing in North-Western Europe. Last week, REKA quoted €31 for Innovator. In the Netherlands, this variety is doing even better with €32,50. This is remarkable, half a euro above the usually premium variety Agria.

French fries above export
At least as striking is the listed price for export potatoes (field crop 40mm upwards). The price range for this is €23,00 to €27,50. So French fry producers pay more for Innovator and Agria than traders in the export market are willing to pay, while the requirements for quality are generally higher there.

The category 2 French fries potatoes (fries suitable but not falling under category 1) come out at €28 to €32. Fontane continues to move a bit behind the music with a price range of €20 to €25, which is also clearly reflected in the other European listings.

Market master
This is the first PotatoNL listing that has been achieved with an independent market master. That is former arable farmer Watze van der Zee from Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Certainly no stranger to the potato sector. He must ensure that PotatoNL is a good reflection of the Dutch market and that the protocol is strictly adhered to. This was one of the sore points for the various parties, which is why it ultimately took more than four months before a listing could be made.
