Carrot market is in a bit of a stalemate

The general idea is that there is very little trade on the carrot market. Demand is low and growers are not planning to drop much in price. Those who do not have to sell, leave the carrot in the cell until the price (hopefully) increases.

Off the land there is also carrot available, but quality is really starting to play a role there. If good carrots from the cooling - 'for little' as an insider says - are offered, the choice is quickly made.

Exports are slow. It was already known that Belgium and Germany have enough product themselves, but it is increasingly looking like demand from Poland is also not getting off the ground. What goes out, all goes to the 'Eastern Bloc'.

The market is somewhat at an impasse. No one benefits from falling below the cost price, so those who have good quality carrots and don't need to get rid of them are waiting for their chances. It is quieter than in recent years, but it is not completely quiet either. It continues to 'rumble'. 

The DCA Peen listing remains the same for the third week in a row. It should be noted that there is little trading.
