It has been mentioned repeatedly: the export demand for carrots is not great this year. There is demand from Eastern Europe, but Germany and Belgium are not on the market at all and the expectation is that this will not change for the time being. In the meantime, there is a large supply of good quality carrots. Here and there a dot is still acceptable, but if there is really something wrong with it, it is difficult to find a buyer.

It is expected that in the weeks before Easter, this year 20 and 21 April, demand will increase, as usual. It is noted that not too much should be expected of this this year, because that extra demand is now also needed to process the large quantities of carrots.

Especially growers with a lot of carrots in the cooling are currently saying goodbye to their product more easily. The DCA carrot quotation remained stable over the past two weeks, despite the fact that the price was under pressure rather than the other way around. This week, the lower end is taking a small step down. For B carrots, the quotation goes from €16,00 to €18,00 per 100 kilos to €15,00 to €18,00 per 100 kilos.
