Onion exports continue their good trend. Week 10 also provides higher figures than we have been used to in recent years. This year, the 20.000 tonne mark for that week has been passed for the first time in five years. This makes the export total so high so far that it only has to tolerate 2021 ahead of it.
In week 10, 21.751 tons were exported, according to figures from the KCB/GroentenFruit Huis. The last time that around the same amount of onions were exported in this week was in 2015. At that time, 21.417 tons of onions crossed the national borders.
In total, 983.393 tonnes were exported this year. This is the second largest amount of exported onions in the period up to and including week 10. Only in 2021 were more onions exported to the Netherlands in week 10, namely 1.022.056 tonnes.
