Across Europe, carrots are no longer being marketed because severe frost has made them unsellable. The resulting loss of supply is taking the pressure off carrot sales. Prices remained exceptionally low until the turn of the year because there was sufficient supply everywhere.

According to official figures, Poland has a reasonably large carrot harvest. The latest figures are even slightly higher than the estimate from late September. The latest measurement points to a production of 611.300 tons in 2025. This quantity is 9,3% higher than in the previous season.

In 2024, the country produced a relatively small harvest. This was mainly due to yields being slightly lower than in the previous two years. The result was a harvest of 559.000 tons.

Last year, more carrots were sown, increasing the area to 16.100 hectares. Combined with a good yield of 38 tons per hectare, this resulted in a larger harvest. Total production is comparable to 2022. The extent to which frost will impact the final harvest is not yet known.
