Sugar beet sowing is progressing to approximately 66% nationwide, but regional differences in pace remain visible due to weather influences. Read more about the progress of beet sowing by region.
In Zeeland, sowing is complete except for the last plots. A great deal of sowing also took place in West Brabant and the province of Flevoland over the past week, meaning that about 90% of the crops are in the ground.
In the north and northeast, it was too wet for a long time, but a substantial amount of beets has also been sown there in the past week. Half of the beets have now been sown on clay, sandy, and valley soils alike. This also applies to Limburg, where 55,7% of the beet fields were sown at the beginning of this week.
East Brabant is lagging behind with just over 40% sown. In North and South Holland, three-quarters of the beets are in the ground, so is evident from the overview.
