Carrot

In the Dutch carrots from storage, there is almost finished. Not that all the washers have stopped yet, but most have enough work stock to continue singing for a while. All in all, not enough for DCA Market Intelligence to still note carrots for this season.

Where there was a small price increase for good quality B-carrots last week, trade has fallen back this week. The general opinion is that the B-carrot season is coming to an end, but this week there is still a price on the board.

Good storage carrots are starting to run out. After four weeks of remaining stable, the DCA Peen quotation is taking a step up. It is the good quality batches that are finding a buyer.

There is still a large supply of good quality Dutch storage carrots. Thanks to a sharp price, these can compete with carrots from the new harvest from abroad that are starting to enter the market. 

After two busy weeks - according to some busier than normal in the run-up to Easter - things are now quieter again. The DCA Peen quotation remains stable this week. 

It is always busier in the carrot trade before Easter, but this week it was busier than expected, it is said. As a result, there was a run on carrots at the end of the week. There is still enough supply, but the lesser batches of carrots have been cleared for the most part, which means that the DCA Carrot Listing is moving up a notch.

The question hanging over the market is: what will the carrot do after Easter? There is no good answer to that yet. This week, flushers and the trade were very busy with the extra demand for Easter. Next week seems to be quiet so far and what happens after that is awaited with great interest. The DCA Carrot quotation remains stable this week.

The carrot price has been under pressure for weeks and the DCA Peen quotation dropped a step last week. Now the extra demand for Easter is coming and the quotation remains stable. There are sounds that the bottom has been reached, but not everyone is convinced of that.

The supply of carrots is large while the export demand does not increase any further. The downward trend of last week continues this week. The DCA Peen quotation has taken a clear step downwards over the past two weeks.

The carrot supply is large and the demand cannot keep up. It is still too early for the Easter demand, since Easter falls on April 20 and 21 and is therefore relatively late. The price will come under more pressure this week and is now actually taking a step down. 

Things are going very badly in the carrot trade. Where normally exports pick up during this period, there is currently little to be seen of this (yet). The price remains under pressure.

The supply of carrots is increasing somewhat. As a result, the lesser lots are finding it difficult to find a buyer. The price is under a bit more pressure. Less is paid for good carrots now than a few weeks ago.

The supply of carrots is large, while the demand is less wild than in the past two years. The prices are under pressure, but so far this does not result in a decrease in the listing. It is noticeable that mainly high-quality batches find their way to a buyer.

It is not wild on the carrot market. That is the general picture that now prevails. Demand is lagging behind and there is a lot of supply. Lesser batches are offered and the price is under some pressure.

The general idea is that there is very little trade on the carrot market. Demand is low and growers are not planning to drop much in price. Those who do not have to sell, leave the carrot in the cell until the price (hopefully) increases.

There is little life in the carrot trade. Demand is limited and the market is slightly under pressure. Let's just say for convenience that the trade and washers are busy with the Fruit Logistica that is being held this week in Berlin.
