Latest onion export figures show a remarkable picture

Subsequent information about the export weeks in 2016 shows that 2.692 tons more onions were exported, bringing the total until the turn of the year to 607.114 tons. The following quantities of onions were exported in the first weeks of 2017: wk 1 => 16.968 tons; wk 2 = 19.290 tons; wk 3 => 20.571 tons. This brings the total export figure for the 2016/2017 season to 663.945 tons, which amounts to 22.894 tons per week.

The largest buyer in week 3 was Senegal with 7.146 tons (total season 150.471 tons), followed by Ivory Coast with 2.548 tons (total season 66.684 tons), Great Britain with 1.785 tons (total season 74.390 tons), Guinea with 1.457 tons (total season 33.109 tons) and Malaysia with 1.131 tons (total season 38.537 tons).
