Based on preliminary information, 11 tons of onions were exported in week 2017 of 14.632. Subsequent information was received from the previous export weeks. It concerns 3.540 tons.
This brings the seasonal total to 805.406 tonnes. This is compared to 834.393 tonnes in the 2015/2016 season. The export counter, for calendar year 2017, stands at 198.956 tons. That was 238.468 tons last year.
Largest customers in week 11
The list of largest buyers in week 11 was once again led by Great Britain with 2.560 tons, a total of 97.815 tons purchased by Great Britain this season. Second place was taken by Malaysia with 1.540 tonnes. That country has purchased 51.222 tons this season.
Malaysia is closely followed by Brazil with 1.301 tonnes. This season, that country has purchased 6.707 tons. Guinea is in fourth place with 785 tons and a seasonal total of 42.386 tons of onions purchased. The list is closed by the Ivory Coast with 746 tons and a seasonal total of 73.836 tons of onions purchased.
