Onions are quoted weekly on the regional exchanges in Goes, Middenmeer and Emmeloord, provided there are sufficient transactions. The movements of the onion prices act as an indicator for the Dutch onion market. What movement has occurred this week?

Goes
No quotation was set for the 30% coarse sorting this week. For the 60% coarse sorting, after 2 weeks of no quotation, this week was quoted up to a maximum of 1,00 euros per 100 kg.

Middenmeer
The quotation of yellow seed onions in Middenmeer remained completely unchanged this week. The quotation for the 30% coarse sorting was zero euros and the quotation for the 60% coarse sorting was quoted for 0,00 to 0,50 euros per 100 kg. The mood remained 'Bland'.

Mood back to calm

Emmeloord, yellow onions
After it was not possible to compile a quotation for yellow seed onions with a 30% to 60% coarse grading last week, this week the quotation for the said grading was set at 0,00 to 1,00 euros per 100 kg. The quotation for the 60% coarse grading rose by an average of a quarter of a euro to 0,00 to 1,50 euros per 100 kg. The mood was described as 'Quiet'.

Emmeloord, red onions
The quotation for red seed onions was reduced at the top by 1,00 euros for both size gradings. The 30% to 60% coarse sorting was quoted at 15,00 to 17,00 euros per 100 kg. For the 60% coarse sorting, this amounted to 16,00 to 18,00 euros per 100 kg. Here too the mood was 'Quiet'.

Emmeloord, organic onions
Due to too few transactions, no quotation could be compiled for organic onions this week. If no transactions are reported in the coming weeks, organic onions will be stopped this season.
