The weekly export figures of onions shine a new light on the sales of Dutch onions. Should we be gloomy about the sale of onions, or can we, given the circumstances, be proud of it? Judge for yourself when reading the export figures below.
Export figures continue to amaze
The provisional figures show that in week 14 there was an onion export of 10.548 tons. As is known, almost every week there is a post containing information from the previous export weeks. This information resulted in an export quantity of 1.677 tons.
All this together results in a seasonal export figure of 850.460 tons. Last season that was 885.141 tons, an increase of 34.681 tons. If we convert this per week, it amounts to 21.261 tons. If only the export weeks of calendar year 2017 are taken into account, the export figure is 244.010 tonnes. This quantity was 289.216 tons last year, a plus of 45.206 tons.
