British decline in positive EU onion export exception

The provisional export figure for onions in week 15 is 12.399 tons. From weeks prior, 816 tons of additional information is still trickling in, bringing the season total to 863.676 tons.

Average weekly export above 21.000 tons

Export weeks of this season
Calculated based on the export weeks of this season, this means 21.065 tons per week. In the weeks falling in 2017, 257.226 tons of onions were exported. A year earlier that was no less than 304.228 tons.

Largest customers
The British were the largest buyer of Dutch onions in week 15, with a provisional volume of 2.652 tons. The total British purchase this season is 109.247 tonnes. Ivory Coast took second place with 1.434 tonnes, increasing the seasonal decrease to 76.509 tonnes.

Third place went to the Brazilians, who purchased 15 tons of onions in week 1.326. Guinea took fourth place with an export of 867 tons. Malaysia completed the top 5 with an import of 749 tons of Dutch onions. Malaysia's total purchase this season is 56.805 tons.
