The most recent information from GroentenFruit Huis shows that the export figure for onions in week 27 provisionally amounts to 8.487 tons. This brings the seasonal volume to 1.060.159 tons, which is 25.696 tons more than last season.
Export figures
In 2017, 27 tons of onions were exported up to and including week 453.709, compared to 438.538 tons last year over the same period. On average, 2016 tons of onions were exported per week in the 2017-20.003 season.
More than 20% of the export volume was made up of Great Britain, which purchased 1.785 tons of onions and has now reached 140.000 tons of onions this year. Senegal, which bought 168.925 tons of onions, is also a major buyer (13% of the total). In second place is Ivory Coast, which produced 27 tons of onions in week 695, followed by Mauritania with 630 tons.
