The latest export figures for onions provide more insight into what has already been exported this season. A notable buyer pulled the cart in week 30. In the first weeks of the new season, this customer has already imported 30% of the total volume of the previous season.
The export figures for onions in week 30 provisionally amount to 13.819 tons. Based on subsequent information, the export figure for week 29 has been increased by 456 tons. The total for weeks 29 and 30 therefore amounts to 25.611 tonnes.
Higher numbers last season
Last season the counter stood at 30 tons up to and including week 46.277. This was mainly because the season already started in week 27. For the export weeks that fall in 2017, the counter stands at 492.784 tons. In 2016 this was still 484.815 tons.
The largest buyer in week 30 was Nicaragua with 2.150 tons, followed by Great Britain with 1.986 tons. Ivory Coast follows with 1.923 tons and Guinea with 1.602 tons. Senegal concludes the list with 680 tons.
