Onion export continues to extend from previous years

Once again there are good export figures for onions to report. As a result, the realized result is at a greater distance from previous years. What does this lead to?

Based on preliminary information, 49 tons of onions were exported in week 28.759. In addition, the export figure appears to have increased by 3.743 tons (according to subsequent information). This brings the season's total to 581.748 tons, which means a total of 27.702 tons of onions per week.

Ivory Coast takes second place

Largest customers
The export cart was pulled by Senegal in week 49. The country purchased 5.351 tons, bringing the volume that Senegal purchased this season to 130.471 tons. The second place goes to Ivory Coast, that country took in 4.495 tons of onions. The total recorded volume for this season is 76.536 tons.

The Philippines came in third place with 3.031 tons. The country accounted for a purchase of 17.521 tons of onions, an increase of 5.983 tons compared to last year. 2.258 tons of onions went to Mali, which increases the distance compared to last season to 12.432 tons. That is a plus of 72%.

Small amounts
Very small quantities went to Egypt (5 tons), Jordan (8 tons), Poland (10 tons) and Maldives (12 tons). The annual total is 1.048.921 tons, compared to 990.393 tons in 2016.The export of onions continues to exceed previous years.
