Onion export starts well in the first export week

The first export week of onions in 2018 shows good figures again. This continues the positive line with which 2017 ended.

The first export week of 2018 is good with 18.232 tons. Senegal, the largest buyer that week, purchased 5.767 tons (provisional figures). This brings Senegal's purchase well above 156.600 tons.

Malaysia scored second place in week 1 (2.033 tons). This season the country produced 37.211 tons. Great Britain accounted for 1.021 tonnes, raising the season's total to 51.147 tonnes.

Average weekly export
The average weekly export up to and including week 1 amounts to 27.471 tons. Due to subsequent information, the export figure has increased by 712 tons. The season total therefore stands at 686.781 tonnes. The export counter for calendar year 2017 stands at 1.135.722 tons, compared to 1.044.988 tons in 2016.The export figures of onions up to and including week 1 (over the years).
