All figures together provide a total volume of 755.123 tons this season. This corresponds to 26.968 tons per week. The lead compared to last season is 61.281 tons. The total volume exported in calendar year 2018 is 86.317 tons, compared to 87.392 tons last year.
Where did the onions go?
Among buyers in week 4, Malaysia took first place with 3.217 tonnes. The country is good for a total of 45.401 this season (+5.600 tons compared to last season). Great Britain takes second place with 1.830 tons and has a season total of 56.930 tons (-18.151 tons compared to last season). Ivory Coast purchased 1.779 tons and the total purchase for this season is 88.737 tons (+20.498 tons compared to last season).
Only 500 tons went to Senegal. This means that the country is good for 165.650 tons (+5.664 tons) this season. In week 4, there were a total of 87 countries that purchased Dutch onions. The volume of onions to Brazil is striking (1.301 tons), increasing the volume this season to 4.048 tons (2.544 tons last year).
