De onion pool short storage of Agrifirm Plant has yielded a result of €7,40 per 100 kilos. The supplier will announce this on 15 February. It is the first result of the pool that was started in 2017. The onions were sold in the period between the harvest and the end of January.

While the ex-land pool was unable to compete in rising prices, the short storage pool did. From the Christmas period benefited from a price revival. After the harvest, Agrifirm Plant started selling polar onions. The last onions left the barn at the end of January. According to the company, participants who have delivered before Christmas still benefit from the better mood in the new year.

From the start of the sales period, Agrifirm has sold the pool onions in equal portions. In this way collective use could be made of a price advantage. In their own words, the pool scores a price that reflects the market well.

Member Benefits
In response to questions from the market, Agrifirm started a pool for short-term storage in 2017. This pool is positioned between the ex-land pool and the long-term storage pool of the cooperative. In addition to the pool price, participants will receive a member benefit of €2018 per 0,10 kilos in mid-100. This brings the final price for members to €7,50 per 100 kilos.

Agrifirm already made the result of their ex-land pool at the beginning of January known† This amounted to €4 per 100 kilos for the yellow seed onions and €10 per 100 kilos for red seed onions. These are also prices including the member benefit of €0,10 per 100 kilos. Flevo Onions, which Waterman Onions from Emmeloord is behind, also has a short storage pool. She completed the polar period on January 1. It result of this pool came to €7,26 per 100 kilos.

(Text continues below chart)The average stock exchange listing between November 1 and January 31 is €7,15 per 100 kg.

National interest
For an onion pool with short storage, there is interest in the 'new' growing areas in the north-east and south-east of the Netherlands. That told Aart den Bakker during the establishment of the new pool. There are also growers on the clay soil who would like to sell part of their onions before the new year.

Is the member benefit really 1 euro per 100 kg? I think this should be 1 euro per ton?
Still hard with those numbers ;)

0,1 cents per kilo => 1 cent per 10 kilos => 10 cents per 100 kilos => 1 € per tonne
35 € for a whole truck full
And a box of 500 tons yields 500 € extra through the member benefit.
If you do everything you have and keep through Agrifirm, you will receive quite a bit of member allowance! Can you regularly shop another Dacia.
