The latest onion export figures (week 5) make it clear that the Dutch onion market is in a correction phase. What exactly does that mean?
The provisional export figure for week 5 is 16.903 tons, which is almost 10.000 tons below the weekly average of 26.650 tons. It is becoming clear that Senegal is no longer on the market, and the country has therefore dropped out of the list of buyers.
The export figures for onions are published weekly, but they may be adjusted upwards later due to subsequent information. The adjustment for the first 4 weeks of 2018 amounts to 830 tons.
