Positive adjustment for export figures

The provisional export figure for week 10 is 12.249 tonnes and the adjustment of the previous figures (from week 5 to week 9) amounts to a total of 3.195 tonnes. This brings the total export figure for this season to 861.227 tonnes, which amounts to a weekly average of 25.330 tonnes.

The biggest customers
The largest customer in week 10 was Britain (1.746 tons). The country now accounts for a total purchase of 68.761 tons this season. Malaysia took second place, with a decrease of 1.158 tonnes, bringing the season's total to 54.965 tonnes. Guinea signed for 1.017 tons, raising the country's total to 45.464 tons.

Mauritania takes fourth place with a purchase of 728 tons. Brazil is in fifth place in week 10, with an intake of 722 tons of onions. The Brazilians have now imported 13.027 tons of Dutch onions this season.

Ahead of last year
So far in calendar year 2018, 192.421 tons of onions have been exported. Last year that number was 187.645 tons.The export figures are far ahead of previous years.
