Onion export figures full of positivism

The latest export figures for onions can be seen. Week 18 has (as expected) a considerable adjustment, but the previous weeks have also seen a significant adjustment. Where do the numbers come from?

The provisional export figure for week 19 is 14.545 tons and the subsequent information from week 18 concerns 4.320 tons (or 29,3%). In the period from week 11 to week 17, more than 6.100 tons of additional information appeared to have been received. This appears to have answered the call to pay more attention to export information.

Brazil top vane
Week 19 is another Brazilian party, with a provisional purchase of 3.205 tons. The purchase for this season has now risen to 30.686 tons and the country is again a serious buyer. Great Britain is also a good buyer (1.961 tons), bringing the season's total to 93.459 tons. Mauritania signed for 1.896 tons and Ivory Coast for 1.135 tons.

This brings the total exported volume, excluding all cargoes delivered this season, to 1.028.744 tons, compared to 951.530 tons last season. For calendar year 2018, the counter currently stands at 359.938 tons, compared to 345.080 tons in 2017.The export figures of onions up to and including week 19 (over the years).
