Remarkable figures for onion export

This week's onion export figures are remarkable. It is not often that a correction had to be made for so many weeks. The result puts this year's record even sharper.

Brazil is the most striking country in week 20 in terms of onion purchases. Yet this customer is not the largest. That honor goes to Great Britain, with a (provisional) purchase of 1.834 tons. This means that the English are good for 95.619 tons of onions this season.

Brazil accounts for a decrease of 1.383 tons, according to the most recent figures. As a result, the total now exceeds 32.000 tons. Guinea, France and Ivory Coast accounted for 1.282 tonnes, 1.108 tonnes and 1.006 tonnes respectively.

Corrections
Remarkable in the latest reporting is the correction that goes back to week 1. The corrected volume is more than 4.519 tons. This brings the total for this season to 1.046.952 ton, which averages 23.794 tons per week stands for. For calendar year 2018, the counter stands at 378.146 tons, compared to 363.616 tons last year.The export figures of onions up to and including week 20 (over the years).
