Onion export in week 22 dominated by British

The most recent onion export figures show that Europe and Africa dominated the scene. This further increases the distance from last year.

It is the British who pulled the export cart in week 22; In that week, the country reached a provisional purchase of 2.173 tons of Dutch onions. This brings the purchase for this season to more than 100.000 tons. Ivory Coast is in second place with a decrease of 1.693 tons, giving the country 102.993 tons this season.

Guinea and Mauritania purchased 22 and 1.267 tons of onions respectively in week 1.064. Germany completes this top 5 with a purchase of 678 tons of Dutch onions.

Ahead of last year
A total of 1.086.263 tons of onions were exported this season, compared to 999.008 tons last year. So this is a plus of 8,7%. Exports amounted to 2018 tons in calendar year 417.457, compared to 392.559 tons in 2017.The onion export figures up to and including week 22 (over the years).
