The processors are keeping quiet on the onion market. Many of them are ready for this season and the rest have already switched back to second gear a few weeks ago. In addition, many claims have been received and that is why only parties purchased additionally, the quality of which is top.

In the meantime, the processing market in Eastern Europe is processing the necessary onions and this week again 100 to 200 cars went to Poland. Eastern European processors currently only buy onions in the northeast of the Netherlands. There are no cars available in the southwest of the Netherlands. The export destinations of Dutch onions are mainly in Europe and a small part in Africa.

First onion sets in the country
This week the first winter onion sets were also brought from the field. Various sorting companies showed videos of this on social media last week. There are approximately 300 hectares of winter onion sets, of which the Troy variety has the largest share.

The first spring onion sets will be collected from the field at the beginning of July. This means that the old and the new harvest are mixed up. There is no quotation for the onion onions yet, but prices quoted are €19 to €20 for delivery on July 1.

Only Emmeloord is still recording
Of the 3 regional agricultural fairs, only the Emmeloord fair is still listed. They indicate an unchanged price level for the 30% to 60% large onions. At 60% coarse you can again see a small minus on the board. A price range of €4 to €6 is noted for this sorting, which means a minimum of €0,25.The quotation for the 60% coarse again showed a small minus.
