Germany actively participates in onion export

The updated information and the export figure from week 23 ensure a high export figure for onions again. Europe and Africa are the leaders in this regard.

Preliminary information shows that 23 tons of onions were exported in week 11.231. The largest customer was Britain (1.508 tons). The British have purchased more than 105.000 tons of onions this season.

The African continent also participated well with Ivory Coast, Mauritania and Guinea. This concerned 1.413, 1.245 and 1.136 tonnes respectively. Germany comes in 5th place with 1.019 tons and that country has purchased approximately 27.000 tons more onions (with almost 4.700 tons) than was the case last year up to and including week 23.

Export total increases
The volume of subsequent information amounts to 7.454 tons. This, together with the export figure, brings the total for this season to 1.104.949 tonnes. On average this is 23.509 tons per week. For calendar year 2018, the counter stands at 436.143 tons, compared to 406.968 tons last year.The export figures up to and including week 23 (over the years).
