Exports under 10.000 tons for the first time

Onion exports are slowing down, as can be seen in the most recent export figures (week 24). They show a negative trend.

Onion export figures have fallen below 10.000 tons for the first time this season. The provisional export figures for week 24 indicate a volume of 9.707 tons. However, these are provisional export figures, which means that a level above 10.000 is still possible through a correction.

The total onion export for this season currently amounts to 1.115.964 tons. That is an increase of approximately 10% compared to the previous season in the same period.

Great Britain has been the main buyer of Dutch onions for a number of weeks. In week 24, the country purchased 1.942 tons. Guinea follows in second place with 1.575 tons of Dutch onions. Ivory Coast completes the top 3, with a purchase of 1.206 tons of Dutch onions.  The export figures of onions up to and including week 24 (over the years).
