The latest export figure for onions once again sheds new light on the efforts made by Dutch exporters. How will these turn out and which customer will be in the lead in week 40?
The latest figures regarding the export of Dutch onions are known and make it clear that, based on preliminary information, more than 40 tons of onions were exported in week 21.000. Due to subsequent information, the export result for the weeks prior to week 40 was increased by 167 tons. This together results in an export result for this season of 294.312 tons, which corresponds to 21.022 tons per week.
Senegal
The export result of week 40 was partly due to the decrease in Senegal volume. Because the Senegalese were good for 7.738 tons, increasing the season's total to 46.672 tons. 18.660 tons less than last year up to and including week 40.
Position of Ivory Coast
The position of Ivory Coast is striking, which did not get further than 40 in week 15e place and is good for 340 tons of onions. With 45.220 tons of imported onions, it should take the lead from Senegal. Britain took over in the 40se 2018 tons of onions differed from 1.577. The country is now good for 30.850 tons this season. Indonesia came in 1.244rd place with 3 tons and has already purchased more than 11.751 tons of onions this season.
