More than 1.050.000 tons of onions exported in 2018

Due to the broken working week (in connection with Christmas) and the lack of demand from Africa, the export figures for week 52 show the lowest export volume of this season. Where do they come from?

Based on provisional export figures, only 52 tons of onions were exported in week 4.981. This brings the seasonal average to 21.971 tonnes per week. Great Britain is the largest buyer in week 52 (1.238 tons of onions). Senegal (493 tons) and Ivory Coast (337 tons) follow at a relatively large distance.

Weekly average
The volume of information received amounts to 5.425 tons of onions, resulting in 571.236 tons being exported in the first half of the season. Now that the export figures for week 52 have been presented, all (provisional) export figures for the 2018 calendar year are also known. Total exports in 2018 amounted to more than 1.050.000 tons. This means that 2018 will go down as the third best export year once upon.
