Onion market enters final round

There are still only a few growers with free onions. That is why a number of processors are fighting for the last onions. This also includes high onion prices.

The above also depends on the destination to which a packer delivers and the current position of that packer. In any case, those who are on the market pay a lot for the last onions.  

Giant step
Bale prices have also taken a huge step in just 1 week. €65 to €75 are currently paid for medium-sized and large onions. The top is mainly intended for supermarkets. Various Eastern European destinations are also going along with these new bale prices, although this does not apply to the overseas markets. They drop out at these price levels.

Onion exports are currently continuing steadily. In recent weeks, exports of over 10.000 tons have consistently been achieved. The most recent export figures are from weekend 13. These show an export of 10.834 tons of onions.

Unique listing in Emmeloord
The regional stock exchange in Emmeloord showed a unique listing this week. The 60% upside increased by no less than €12,50, which means that the quotation is €55 to €65. The 30% to 60% coarse also made a big step (+€8) and came to €50 to €60.
