There are currently few free onions at the Dutch farmers, because most of them were sold last week. There is therefore very little trade at the moment.
Since there are currently only a few onions left to trade, the trade fair in Middenmeer listed for the last time of this season last week. However, the regional stock exchange in Emmeloord has listed. They ended up unchanged. For the 30% to 60% coarse onions this means a price range of €50 to €60 and for the 60% upwards it is a price of €55 to €65.
Bale prices stabilize
Bale prices skyrocketed last week, but now appear to be stabilizing at those high levels. The buyers who go along with these high bale prices are mainly European destinations. This often concerns exporters from Eastern Europe, France and Italy. Exports to Germany, on the other hand, appear to be declining somewhat.
