The onion export figures for weeks 14 and 15 both came in well below 10.000 tons. However, subsequent information results in a significant adjustment. This puts the numbers in a different light.
The provisional onion export figures for week 16 amount to 8.560 tons of onions. It should be noted that the figures may still be adjusted. The subsequent items of the last few weeks are quite significant. For example, the export figure for week 15 has been adjusted by 4.118 tons, while the export figure for week 14 has also been adjusted by 2.477 tons. As a result, the export figures still exceed 10.000 tons.
A total of 751.018 tons of onions were exported from the Netherlands this season, with the average per week being 17.881 tons. This season, 126 countries were served, with Senegal still the largest customer (126.900 tons).
Great Britain at the top
The most important customer in week 16 is Great Britain. This country purchased 1.701 tons of onions from the Netherlands that week. Germany follows in second place (1.301 tons). Due to the export figures of last week it seemed that Great Britain and Germany were taking a step back in importing onions. However, the subsequent items significantly adjust the figures, putting them in a different light.
