The provisional export figures for onions for week 17 amount to 5.871 tons of onions. This puts the seasonal total at 759.439 tons and the weekly average at 17.661 tons of onions. Despite the fact that the figures can be adjusted, it is clear that things are quiet on the Dutch export market. There are few onions to export and supplies are spread across the country last weeks of this season.

Germany is switching
The largest buyers of Dutch onions are again Germany and Great Britain. In week 17, Germany imported 801 tons, making them the largest buyer. The country imported 36.454 tons this season. However, from week 18, exports to Germany will decrease, as the country imports more and more onions from countries outside Europe.

Great Britain is the second best buyer in week 17. The country purchased 1 tons of onions from the Netherlands that week. Liberia follows in third place with 706 tons.
