The provisional export figure for week 18 is 5.597 tons. This brings the total export figure for this season to 773.032 tonnes. On average, 17.569 tons were exported weekly this season. The figure for week 18 may be adjusted in the coming weeks due to subsequent items. The export figure for week 17 has been adjusted by 1.395 tons. As a result, exports now amount to 7.265 tons, compared to 5.871 tons previously.

Export figures have been gradually decreasing in recent weeks. The export of Dutch onions is in the last weeks of the season and processors and exporters are spreading their stocks. The last onions from the Netherlands will probably be exported in 2 weeks. This means that the onion season will be ready approximately 6 weeks earlier than normal.

Britain
In week 18, Great Britain is again the largest buyer of onions from the Netherlands (with 1.174 tons). This country purchased more than 1.000 tons every week for almost the entire season, making them a consistent customer. France is the second largest buyer in week 18 (1 tons). Guinea completes the top 804 (3 tons).
