In week 25, Great Britain purchased the most Dutch onions. The provisional volume was 743 tons. This brings the English purchasing appetite to 101.317 tons this season. Sweden purchased 251 tons of onions that week, good for second place. Overall, the Scandinavian country will produce 10.330 tons this season.
Germany, Finland and Denmark bought 25 tons, 200 tons and 155 tons of onions respectively in week 155. The top 10 contains 9 European buyers, followed by Suriname, which bought 90 tons of onions from the Netherlands.
In this 2018/19 onion season, a total of 819.147 tons of Dutch onions were exported, resulting in a weekly average of 16.016 tons. The export of onions in calendar year 2019 amounts to 244.784 tons. Based on subsequent information, the export figures for the weeks before week 25 have been increased by 7.959 tons.
