Africa signs up for Dutch onions

The third export figures for the 2019 growing season have been published. These figures show that 2 of the 3 best buyers of the onions come from Africa.

Dutch onion exports exceeded 2019 tons for the first time in the 10.000 growing season. The provisional export figures for week 29 amount to 11.981 tons. In addition, the export figures for weeks 27 and 28 have been jointly adjusted by 2.891 tonnes. This brings the season total to 22.825 tons.

Africa starts to walk
The top 3 of best buyers include 2 African destinations. Great Britain stands between these two African destinations with 2 tonnes. Third place is taken by Guinea with 1.457 tons. The best buyer in week 1.143 is Ivory Coast. The West African country, which was the third buyer of Dutch onions last season, purchased 29 tons in week 29.
