De onion export is currently going well. Just like last week, a lot of onions are being packed for West Africa, Brazil and Poland. In addition, bale prices have stabilized in recent weeks. This has increased confidence among processors and exporters and more onions are being bought.

Due to the precipitation, few onions could be loaded from land. There was therefore extra enthusiasm for dry onion sets from the shed, which caused a (temporary) revival in that market. The stock market prices in Goes recorded a plus of €1 this week (for both onion sets from the shed and onion sets from land).

Seed onions
Weather permitting, the necessary plots of seed onions will be harvested next week. For parcels with immediate delivery (in 3 weeks), the exhibition committee in Emmeloord has noted a price range of €10 to €11. When the onions are delivered fully grown, the quotation is €9 to €11. Because there are still many onion sets, the demand for seed onions is still calm at the moment.
