The provisional export figures of week 31 show that Brazil is the largest buyer of Dutch onions. This gives the Dutch onion export a boost.
Dutch onion exports have found their way up. In week 31, our country exported 16.892 tons. This brings the seasonal total to 56.820 tons. Brazil purchases a lot of Dutch onions in week 31. The South African country is mainly looking for large onions and Dutch onion onions provide this. In week 31, the country imported 3.298 tons of onions exported from the Netherlands.

After Brazil, Ivory Coast was the largest buyer of Dutch onions in week 31 (with 1.756 tons). Great Britain purchased 1.718 tons of onions in the said week. Guinea also imported more than 1.000 tons, as exports to that country amounted to 1.430 tons. In addition, many onions were exported to peeling plants in Poland in week 31. However, not all of these figures are included in the published export figures.
