In week 33, Brazil is the most important buyer of Dutch onions. That country purchased 4.646 tons of onions. Senegal is in second place, with a decrease of 2.674 tons. Ivory Coast took third place and purchased 33 tons of onions from the Netherlands in week 2.336. The export figures for onions also show that there is currently worldwide demand for onions from the Netherlands.

Despite the fact that large volumes of onions are exported, the situation at the farmer is still calm. The processors have secured many onions at an early stage, which means they are not actively entering the market. In addition, they are regularly offered parties.

Bale prices
Both bale prices and stock exchange prices are stable. The price paid for the seed onions in the bale is around €18. The stock prices do show small changes compared to last week. When all quotations are added together, €8 to €10,50 is paid for seed onions.
