Onion export goes in fits and starts

When it comes to onion exports, we see a special picture this season. One week it's all about sprinting, while the next week it's a cool down.

There is virtually no regularity in the season this season export of onions. After a meager export figure of 23.850 tons in week 38, week 39 makes up for a lot. In that week, exports amounted to 32.991 tons. It is indicative of the situation on the export market. This is also the fourth week with exports above 30.000 tons, which means the season is still ahead of last year.

Largest customers
Senegal is the most important importer of onions from the Netherlands in week 39. The country produced 8.148 tons in that week. This now brings the seasonal total to 49.726 tonnes. Ivory Coast is number 5.287 with 2 tons and is good for 35.754 tons of onions this season. Malaysia is in third place, with a purchase of 3.659 tonnes. The season's total is 11.748 tons of onions. Mali and Great Britain completed the top 5, importing 1.600 tons and 1.489 tons respectively.
