The market for red onions is a lot livelier. It export ban is still an issue in India, but this does offer opportunities for the red onion market in Asia. It is still unclear how long the export ban will remain in effect. However, insiders expect the increased demand from India to continue in the coming weeks.
Good export figures
The export of Dutch onions went smoothly again this week. The packers speak of one broad question, with the continent of Africa remaining one of the most important destinations. Due to the planned shipments to Africa, the packers have been extra busy this week. Asia is also a good market at the moment. They mainly ask for red onions.
