Export record in sight on onion market

It is known that exporters of onions have been busy in recent weeks. The preliminary export figures for week 47 are even close to the export record.

The current export record is 38.880 tons of onions (week 46 of 2017). The most recent export figures from week 47, at 37.279 tonnes, come close to this record. It should be noted that these figures can still be adjusted due to subsequent items. In the latest export overview, the export figures from week 40 to week 46 adjusted by 2.569 tons.

Senegal in the lead
The largest customers in week 47 are again the well-known destinations from West Africa. Senegal purchases the most onions with 8.401 tons. Ivory Coast is in second place with 5.158 tons of onions and Guinea completes the top 3 with a purchase of 3.021 tons of Dutch onions.

Dutch onion exporters have done what they had to do so far. Namely exporting a lot of onions. This season, 556.111 tons of onions have already been exported. This results in an average weekly export of 26.500 tons.
