Export onion takes a big step back, as expected

The latest export figures for onions show that shipments to Senegal are over. Which countries are now in the top 5?

As the exporters already indicated, week 3 was the end of the year for the purchase of Dutch onions by Senegal. As the largest buyer, Guinea pulled the export cart in week 4 with the purchase of 2.631 tons. This season, Senegal's neighboring country already accounts for the purchase of 41.784 tons. Great Britain took second place with 1.570 tonnes, increasing the season's total to 51.987 tonnes.

Average per week
Ivory Coast came in third place with 1.411 tons and managed to increase the total volume of onions to 95.827 tons. The Philippines purchased 1.224 tons of onions and Mauritania 948 tons, accounting for 23.585 tons and 28.809 tons respectively this season.

The total export figure stands at 808.604 tons, which corresponds to an average of 26.953 tons per week. The volume of export information provided for weeks 1 to 3 amounted to 2.286 tonnes.
