The onion export of the 2019 cultivation season is almost over. Who have been the main buyers this season?
The provisional export figures for week 26 have been announced, 6.699 tons of onions were exported this week. In addition, completed items from week 10 to week 25 increase the season total by 949 tons, which now totals 1.180.790 tons of onions. The 2019 export season is now 52 weeks into its final phase. On average, 22.707 tons of onions were exported per week this season.

Now that almost all export figures for the 2019 growing season are known, it is time to take stock. Who are the top 10 largest buyers of Dutch onions?
The largest buyer of Dutch onions should come as no surprise. As in previous years, Senegal purchases the most Dutch onions. Until week 26, the leader of the Dutch onion market will purchase 170.498 tons of onions. The rest of the top 3 should also come as no surprise. Ivory Coast takes second place and Great Britain completes the top three.
