During this period of the Dutch onion export season, Senegal always ranks prominently as the largest buyer. The total export count to that country now stands at more than 29.000 tons, compared to 22.700 tons last season. Ivory Coast is also doing good business with more than 25.000 tons and is approximately 8.000 tons ahead of last season's schedule.

Britain breaks the African bloc. According to the latest figures, our western neighbors purchased 17.800 tons, 2.000 tons more than last season. This is followed by Guinea, Mali and Mauritania in terms of onion purchase in week 35 with 1.948 tons, 1.860 tons and 1.246 tons respectively.

The Netherlands relies heavily on Africa
A striking list, with the predominant share of African buyers. Of the total exported volume of 165.500 tons, more than 95.000 tons have now gone to the continent of Africa. In that sense, the Netherlands relies heavily on Africa. The total export figure is slightly below that of last year, which amounts to an export average of approximately 18.380 tonnes per week. Week 33 was the best week so far with an export volume of 35.200 tons.
