The top three largest buyers of Dutch onions will be further away from the Netherlands in the second week of 2021. The fulfilled export information is the largest item.
The latest export information from GroentenFruit Huis of Dutch onions shows, based on preliminary information, that more than 2 tons of onions were exported in week 16.180. These were delivered to a total of 75 countries, varying in size from 2.073.600 kilos to 10 kilos.
Philippines frontrunner
The honor of being last in week 2 was reserved for the Seychelles. The frontrunner was the Philippines. This country has already been good for the purchase of 36.466 tons of onions this season.
Guinea is in second place with a volume of 1.600 tons, which brings us to a comparable volume of onions that has decreased this season as the Philippines. A striking appearance in the top 3 is Brazil with 1.328 tons. The Brazilians have already bought 3.235 tons of Dutch onions this season, compared to 35.117 tons last season up to and including week 2.
Fulfilled export information
Great Britain and Mauritania follow with 1.205 tons and 1.020 tons respectively. The total volume exported this season is 841.091 tons. That means a week average of 29.003 tons. From subsequent information, the export volume from week 49 2020 to week 1 2021 has been increased by 2.276 tons.
