To date, 2021 export weeks have been published for calendar year 5. These weeks are good for an export of 87.415 tons, which amounts to an average of 17.483 tons per week. Although these figures cannot be compared with the exports of the first half of the season, an export of more than 17.000 tons is more than excellent.

The good export figures ensure that farmers with good onions have a strong position in the market. However, the purchasing wave of a few weeks ago seems to be over. Packers have purchased additional onions and do not want to continue packing because the farm prices around the same level as bale prices lie.

The stock exchange committee in Emmeloord describes the onion market as quiet. This means that supply is greater than demand. For the first time in 5 weeks, the stock exchange listing in Emmeloord shows a negative difference compared to the week before. The quotation of €17 to €20 is one euro lower than last week. The stock exchange quotations in Middenmeer and Goes are unchanged this week.

Only the committees in Emmeloord and Goes record red onions. In Emmeloord this quotation is €17 to €18 and in Goes it is €18 to €20. The stock exchange committee in Emmeloord describes the red onion market as quiet.

There are few changes in bale prices this week. An overview of these bale prices can be found in the DCA quotation Bale price of Onions.
