An onion sales season will always be surrounded by extremes. This season is no exception. For example, the weekly export record was shattered in the first half of the season and with a bit of bad luck, a record will be set in the second half, but based on the lowest sales. So onion sales are still not going well.

For week 11, the provisional export figure for onions is 11.960 tons, slightly better than the result of week 10. Subsequent information from weeks 9 and 10 still showed 161 tons of sales. The total export result for this season therefore rises to 985.584 tons. 35.760 more than last year up to and including week 11. This means sales of 25.936 tons of onions per week.

Guinea's largest customer, Sint Vincent last
The list of largest buyers, those of more than 1.000 tons, is led by Guinea with 1.600 tons. This season, Guinea is responsible for purchasing 49.895 tons of Dutch onions. Great Britain purchased 1.441 tons of onions, raising the season's total to 69.622 tons (last year: 65.130 tons). Mauritania imported 11 tons of Dutch onions in week 1.346 and 51.346 tons this season. The onions found their way to buyers in 72 countries, with Sint Vincent at the bottom (10 kilos).{{dataviewSnapshot(2_1617807792)}}
