The latest published export figures from week 14 remain at 11.637 tonnes. The figure is somewhat unexpected. Many packers indicated that this week felt busier than the previous weeks. Perhaps this has to do with the first Easter day, which fell in week 14. On the other hand, it is possible that the figures will be adjusted in the coming weeks. In particular, onions that are exported within Europe can later be included in the export lists. In addition, not all trade ends up in the export lists. Particularly in Eastern European destinations (such as the Polish industrial market), there is sometimes direct trade between packers and foreign buyers, without the intervention of an agency exporter.{{dataviewSnapshot(2_1619789513)}}

Forced supply continues to hang over the market
The onion market continues to boom on the farm. There are many quality problems with the onions this year, which means that forced supply remains hanging over the market. In combination with low exports, this ensures that prices do not increase. At the bottom end of the market, the Polish industrial market is in demand for onions and thus provides a temporary bottom. All in all, onion prices therefore remain at a comparable level to those in recent weeks.

The stock exchange committees in Goes and Middenmeer will not change the listing this week, but this will happen in Emmeloord. With a quotation of €11 to €15, the quotations in Emmeloord drop by €0,75. In addition, the stock exchange committee characterizes the market as quiet.{{dataviewSnapshot(2_1619789876)}}

Stock market prices for red onions sound more optimistic
